Compression Windows Movie Maker Files

Many of you are asking about compressing videos. Here is a link to some instructions on how to compress movie maker files. We might have better luck uploading the student videos to a service such as vimeo.com and embedding the videos into your student's e-portfolios. I'm looking into the best way to do this right now and I will keep you posted.

  1. FYI--I just looked at this with my students & I think the options for the newer version have changed at the end. It now gives the options to save as an email, save for the computer, DVD, & HD.

  2. Thanks! I'll try to find a better link. Saving it for an email will compress the file quite a bit. I used vimeo to post the video in my last posting and embedded it. This option works quite well; however, it does take a while for the video to become viewable using "free" vimeo. Let me know if you want to try this option. I was going to embed your physics movies on here using that method (I already made you a page). Let me know when they are completed and I'll help you upload them all.
