IT’s happening:

Mr. Serge Nicolai describes great use of Voicethread in Language Classes:
===============================================================

In Foreign languages, the Spanish 2 class, has used the Voicethread website and tools to comment on a painting. They can zoom in on the painting and record their audio comments. The page keeps every comments so that students can hear what others have posted and can also comment on it. They later created a brochure, uploaded it to the site and shared it with some of their classmates.

CANVASSING FOR EdCanvas:  a simple Teacher-Learner friendly tool!
===========================================================
Ms. Miriam Chakko
When I received an invite for a Mini Tech training this week , I heaved a sigh saying “One more time devourer in my hectic schedule! “ I fought against my natural instinct to avoid overloading my poor brain with  more Tech bytes and took the plunge reluctantly, but bravely. To my great amazement and even greater relief, I wrapped up a 30 minute one – on –one session with a great tool tucked under my belt- Edcanvas.   The mystery unfolds…!

Edcanvas is a user friendly drag-drop environment which facilitates it’s users to organize and share all topic related resources such as texts, videos, links, images, and files  in a visually appealing format on a single canvas. Sharing and embedding into Moodle page is done as with Youtube videos and calendar. One of the biggest advantages is that Edcanvas eliminates bulky and multiple uploading of resources to the Moodle page . What’s more? Students can scan the QR code of the canvas using their cell phones and have their resources at the tip of their fingers 24 x 7 even on a “ no electricity supply” day. Thank you Widi for exploring the QR code scanning!

Ms. Jayanthi Ramakrishna is excited about diigo - a social bookmarking site:
=================================================================
Think of this! Teaching resources stored on a range of storage devices. The addresses for online labs, animations, quizzes and other interactive tools religiously copy-pasted on a document. The process of rummaging through folders and browsing internet search engines every time there is a need to retrieve teaching materials for an ongoing unit.
Sounds familiar? Well, Checkout https://www.diigo.com/
Among its varied features, Diigo offers online bookmarking that enables you to work from any computer, collect, organize and more importantly share and collaborate. It gives access to a personal learning network. You can follow educators in your field and have access to their resources the moment it is uploaded.

Cool Tech Tools from Ms. Angelia Crouch:
=================================================================

I used easel.ly to create infographics/posters with my class.  There are many vhemes (visual themes) to use to share information.
Also the students are really getting into createdebate.com. See our debate here:http://mwh.createdebate.com/debate/show/Which_system_is_better#arg351208.  Students will then work on creating an oral debate which they will present in front of the class.

Hope these might be tools other teachers will find useful.

      Amelia Holly and Dafne Mistrangelo, Grade 9, created their prezi presentations  for Ms. Asha Mathews, for her +3 PreSchool Classes.  The topic was 'Wild Animals'.  Amelia and Dafine did this project as part of course requirements (Project Based I.T. Course).  Thanks to both of you for providing a great model of success to be shared with the future students.
