Favorite Middle School Educational Apps

Here are a couple of great Middle School Educational Apps for the iPad.  Most of these are great to practice skills.  If you are looking for some school approved iPad apps, here are a couple.

Dragon Box+

DragonBox introduces the main math elements in a playful and colorful world that appeals to children. The game features a gradual learning of fundamental algebraic elements (equal sign, zero, multiplication, division, parenthesis, negative numbers, fractions, ...).

The kids don't even know they are learning math concepts.

Simple Physics
This is a great physics game for want-to-be engineers.  Try building bridges, tree houses, dams and other things and see if your constructions hold up.  This app is built on real physics concepts and helps kids get a feel for good construction.

Alge-Bingo

This app was created by a high school math teacher with over 25 years of experience in the classroom and is super cute. Develop your algebraic equation solving skills through playing a Bingo game. The game takes you step by step through the process of learning how to solve the most basic equation up through multiple-step equations.

Test your knowledge of geography with these two fun apps.  Learn all kinds of interesting facts about the states or different countries as you play.

Word Dynamo by Dictionary com helps you expand your vocabulary by playing fun games.  Create an account and it keeps track of all your past games and can quiz you on words you struggle with.  It's an addicting but fun vocabulary game.
