The students in Mr. Meyer's class are going to be creating a documentary using a combination of pictures and audio (no video). Here are some different tools students can use that can allow for narration to be recorded over pictures.
Web 2.0 Tools that work both on Macs or PCs
- Meograph - this is a cool tool that allows you to create a digital story with narration. You can include pictures or clips from You Tube movies, you can also link slides to a Google map. This I think would be very helpful in explaining historical events.
- WeVideo- WeVideo is an online video editor but you can add pictures too and add voice over them. The 6th graders have been using it a lot and say that it's pretty easy. It's also nice that your project is available online to edit so you don't have to be on a specific computer.
- Prezi - Prezi has this new feature where you can add voice over to a slide. Make a Prezi will all your pictures then record your voice over those pictures.
- VoiceThread - VoiceThread is a great tool for this program. It allows you to comment on a picture by recording your voice, using your computer's camera or by typing. You can share out your presentation so that others can comment on your pictures too.
- iMovie - If you are using a Mac iMovie is probably the best program to use. Import photos from the iPhoto library, place them in your Movie and then record your voice over them. Share out your movie on your YouTube channel.
- Explain Everything - Explain everything is one of my favorite apps. You can take pictures from the camera roll or from online and you can record your voice over them. You can also add titles and draw on the pictures to explain what's going on. Export your movie to your YouTube channel from the app.
